In late October 2021, it was announced that the annual Powderpuff Game would return. The senior (Grade 12) girls would play against the junior (Grade 11) girls in a 40 minute game of flag football while their male counterparts cheered for them. After weeks of dedicated practice, the game took place on the field on November 24, 2021 after school. The players and male cheerleaders were introduced to the 11th and 12th graders during an assembly before lunch, and enthusiasm was built as fun games were played afterwards. At 4pm, students and teachers gathered around the field to watch the long-awaited game. After 40 minutes of energetic and competitive play, the juniors were declared as the Powderpuff Champions of 2021. They celebrated joyfully across the field with their new bright trophy, proud of all the hard work that led to their great win. Both teams played incredibly, with the seniors using not only great skills and tactics but displaying amazing sportsmanship. Though it was a win for the juniors, ultimately it was a win for the entire GAA community as it looks forward to more entertaining and exciting activities such as Powderpuff in the future.
