Thursday Advisory Clubs

February 23, 2023
Thursday afternoons at GAA were filled with excitement and creativity as students participate in a variety of clubs. These clubs allow students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and form friendships. Here is a closer look at club sessions from October to January.
Cards club, movie club, board game club, geography club, and baking club.
Cards club was a popular choice for students who love strategy games. One member, Ahmed, in grade 11 said, “Cards club is not just about playing cards, it’s about learning new techniques, making new friends, and having fun.” This club provided a supportive and social environment for students to learn new card games, improve their skills, and compete against each other.
Movie Club was a great choice for film enthusiasts. Mariam, in grade 10, a member of movie club said, “I love the movie club because I get to watch great films and discuss them with like-minded people. It’s a great way to relax after a long day of classes.” In this club, students watched and analyzed films from various genres, cultures, and time periods.
Board game club was perfect for students who enjoy playing games. Khalifa, in grade 12, a member of the board game club said, “Board game club is the best way to spend Thursday afternoons. It’s a great way to unwind and play games with my friends.” The club allowed students to play classic and modern board games with their peers.
Geography club was a great choice for students interested in geography, history, and culture. Fatina, in grade 10, a member of the geography club said, “Geography club has been a great experience for me. I have learned so much about different countries and cultures, and I have made new friends in the process.” In this club, students explored the world through maps, videos, and interactive activities.
Baking club was a popular choice for students who loved cooking and baking. Omar AlMagboul, in grade 10, who is a member of the baking club said, “I love baking club because I get to bake delicious treats and learn new recipes. It’s a great way to express my creativity and have fun.” In this club, students baked and decorated various sweets and treats, and learned about baking techniques and recipes from around the world.
In conclusion, Thursday clubs at GAA allowed students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and form friendships. Whether it’s playing cards, watching movies, playing board games, learning about geography, or baking, these clubs help students enhance their high school experience.
We are all looking forward the next round of clubs that will run from February to June.
