The Powderpuff game was played on Wednesday, November 23 at 4 pm.  Seniors won the game but a lot of fun was had by all!

Organizing this event was Ms. Lauren Massman alongside Wadima El Hosani, Louloua Abou-El-Hoda, Jolina Tanyous, Sara Aldaheri, Tamara Atari, Dorra Al Maskari, Yuseline Larrouilh, Abdulla Almazroui, Kiera Peach, Gisela Sicilia Fernadez, Leah Tamasker and Fatema Alameri as the student organizer.

The Powderpuff is an American high school tradition, it allows girls to play flag football while boys cheer them on. The name “powderpuff” originated from the makeup tool that girls would use to powder their faces in public in the 1940s when the games first started, which was more or less a giant fluffy brush. The name perpetuates the stereotype that females are fragile and incapable of causing damage on the field. 

The Powderpuff has been a part of the GAA tradition since 2018. Due to the pandemic, there weren’t as many games as there should have been, in total there were three, with the seniors winning twice and the juniors once.
